Student Life

Lake College strives to create a professional working environment so that students become comfortable and familiar with the modern workplace. At the same time, the College has created common spaces where students, faculty and staff can relax and converse. A great deal of the value of a Lake College education is in the network of supportive relationships one develops while in school and long afterward.

The student body of Lake College is noted for its diverse social, ethnic, economic, and educational characteristics. The culture of the campus fosters the development of attitudes and skills essential to working with a wide range of individuals and populations.

Lake College is concerned with assisting students in integrating the many aspects of their lives and supporting personal growth and development. Services include short-term advising and referral to various community agencies for a more in-depth advisement and assistance.

Faculty are available during their scheduled office hours to assist students with academic issues. Specific office hours will be noted on course syllabi. Lake College also provides students the opportunity to practice skills during the "Open Lab" time, which will be posted at the beginning of each session. The various labs will be supervised by faculty to assist students on an as-needed basis. We encourage students to use the "Open Lab" time to perfect hands-on skills.
